Howard Labow

Induction Year: 2017

Howard Labow was recently inducted into the University of Maryland Athletic Hall of Fame in the Comcast Arena for being a 3-time All American and Olympic fencer.

Howard graduated Niles West High School in Skokie, Illinois where he was All-State in 1972, 1973 and runner-up state champion 1973.

At University of Maryland, Howard was All-ACC 1974, 1975, 1976 and Atlantic Coast Champion 1976. Howard was also a 3-time All American and runner up NCAA Champion in 1976. In 1976, Howard was a member of the U.S. National Fencing Team.

In 1979, Howard was a member of the Israel Olympic Team for the 1980 Games in Moscow. Howard was ranked 15th in the world at that time and the fencing team was positioned for Israel’s first Olympic medal. Unfortunately, similar to the United States, Israel boycotted the 1980 Games and Howard was not able to participate.

Howard is President and CEO of National Enrollment Services, the nation’s premier employee benefit enrollment firm. Howard is also a noted philanthropist supporting institutions and projects throughout the United States and Israel.
