Led by Hall of Fame coach Jim Phipps, the 1972 boys varsity baseball team reached the mountain top by going on to win the 1972 Illinois State Championship by defeating Alton. The team had an awesome winning record of 23-2 that year and went on to give Niles West one of its only State Championships in its long and proud history.

We are so happy to welcome back many of the players from that team and have them once again celebrated for their amazing accomplishment.
